#TogetherWeCan #GoTheDistance

I have to admit – it was tough to stay motivated last week. It’s not surprising; week three is when I usually falter with any new fitness regimen. Fortunately, having the 10k goal and knowing that I’d have to write this update was enough to get me going. I found that once I started, I had no problem completing that day’s walk. I even enjoyed it!
Not only did I feel energized by training, I was inspired to go on longer walks with my dog Max. He stops a lot to smell EVERYTHING and mark his territory, so I’m not including those walks in my training stats. I have enjoyed getting outside now that the weather is warming up.
I’ve been doing my training on a treadmill. It helps me keep a steady pace, so I don’t start daydreaming and slow down. It also takes away a bunch of excuses I’m sure I’d come up with if I was training outside (it’s too cold, it’s raining, etc.). Max is even getting used to the treadmill. Sometimes he naps beside it. A couple of times he bounded into the room shaking his stuffed toy, trying to get me to play with him. He seemed awfully disappointed when I wouldn’t stop my training to play. It wasn’t easy an easy choice. Look at that face!
